My story
I started my career in interaction design — first at ZTE designing mobile phone interfaces, then at ALO7, an EdTech company where I worked on a suite of products serving teachers, students, parents, and institutions through a major shift from B2C to B2B.
It was at ALO7 that something shifted for me. Managing UX across multiple products at scale, I kept finding myself more interested in the data behind user behavior than in designing the solutions themselves. Why did certain features get abandoned? Which user groups were actually engaged? Those questions stayed with me.
After relocating to the US and focusing on family for several years, I returned to work in 2023 with a clearer direction: I wanted to be the person who answers those questions. I completed Google's Data Analytics certification and a UX Design fellowship at Springboard, and I'm now building a focused portfolio in product analysis — combining the user empathy I've always had with the data skills I'm actively developing.
What I'm working on now
I'm currently rebuilding my analytical skills through a structured 16-week plan — working with SQL, R, and Tableau on real datasets, and integrating AI tools into my analysis workflow. My first project analyzes student learning behavior using the OULAD dataset, approaching it from a product angle: what would I recommend building, and why?
I'm drawn to products in education and digital health, where data has real consequences for real people — and where understanding user behavior is never just a numbers exercise.
Outside of work
When I'm not working, I read a lot of Chinese fiction, cook for family, and do crafts with my kids — origami, clay, the occasional crochet project. Simple things that keep me grounded.
